
I took the kids to the British Museum in London before my MBA graduation ceremony.
We went straight to the African Gallery.
I became their unofficial guide there, describing the artefacts taken from the Benin Empire, the invasion, and the colonisation of Nigeria.
A guide stood listening and nodded all through.
His version of the story differed slightly from mine when he spoke at the end.
That moment reminded me that:
If you don’t tell your story, others will, and they may not tell it right.
