One of the biggest myths about leadership is that you must have all the answers.
I’ve learned and lived the opposite
A while back, I had a leadership coaching session with a visibly overwhelmed founder.
He came expecting me to “fix” his team dynamic, solve their productivity slump, and tell him what to do next.
Midway through our conversation, I asked,
“What would happen if you stopped trying to do everything and started asking better questions?”
The silence that followed was deafening but powerful.
That one question shifted the entire tone.
Instead of offering 10 solutions, I invited him into a place of clarity.
He started seeing his team differently.
He saw the cracks he were covering instead of correcting.
He started letting go of the need to be the hero and embraced the role of being the guide.
And we walked away reminded of this truth:
Leadership isn’t about being the loudest voice in the room.
It’s about holding space for people to hear their own wisdom.
If you’re leading anyone, a team, a client, or even yourself, remember this:
You don’t need to solve every problem.
You need to ask the right questions and hold the right presence.
You’re not here to fix people.
You’re here to free them.
I am rooting for you.
