Onboarding: The Boulevard Way

Earlier this morning, I virtually participated in the orientation process for new staff at one of our locations in the Niger Delta.

This orientation is a standard component of the organization’s onboarding processes for all new staff.

New staff are guided through an onboarding procedure to assist them in adjusting to life at Boulevard.

The onboarding objectives are to make our recruits feel at home at work, gain their loyalty to the company, and assist them, in the beginning, to produce and contribute to our goals.

Besides boosting new staff retention, enhancing employee engagement, and accelerating employee blending,  successful onboarding programs have provided us with a competitive edge.

Additionally, it has improved corporate results over time and boosted employee morale.

Here are some top recommendations we incorporate throughout onboarding:

  • Beginning early and being ready
  • Creating a thrilling first day
  • Providing a detailed job description
  • Choosing a mentor or work buddy
  • Encouraging inquiries and comments
  • Providing possibilities for training and growth
  • Clearly defining expectations and objectives, and
  • Delivering frequent updates and feedback.

Continuing onboading after a few days or weeks of work is very important.

I want to thank the HR team for excellently analyzing the employee handbook with a strong emphasis on the distinctive organizational culture in Boulevard.

At the end of the program, I chipped in with a few welcoming words and this video below. The video should be a companion and guide to the new and old staff during their stay with us.

Enjoy the rest of the day. All the best, guys‼
