5 REASONS YOU ARE NOT GETTING HIRED

♦️Are you frustrated by the constant rejections from your job applications?

Do you wonder what you are doing wrong?

Then, this post is for you.

♦️From the experience of a few years of me working with HR in interviewing and employing staff, I have curated five possible reasons why your job applications are getting rejected and how to fix them.

1️⃣Your CV is too long or too short.

A strong CV should be concise and pertinent, showcasing your accomplishments and talents that are relevant to the position.

Make it easy to read by keeping it to no more than one or two pages and using bullet points, headers, and formatting.

2️⃣ You are submitting applications for positions that are unfit for you.

While it may be tempting to apply for every post, it might be detrimental if you are underqualified or lack the necessary expertise.

Focus on the jobs that fit your qualifications, talents, and interests.

Refrain from spending your time and effort on ones that are out of your grasp.

3️⃣ Using the same CV, cover letter and referee for every job.

Employers can identify whether you are copying and pasting from other applications or utilizing a generic template.

They want to know that you have done your homework and taken the time to learn about their business and requirements.

From the job description, extract the specific keywords, use them in your cover letter and CV for each position, and emphasize how you can benefit the company.

4️⃣ Lack of preparation for the interview.

In the interview, you can make a solid first impression and persuade the hiring manager that you are the perfect person for the position.

But many job candidates don’t adequately prepare for the interview, leading to subpar performance and lost chances.

You should do your homework about the firm and the position before the interview, rehearse typical interview questions and responses, dress appropriately, be on time, and follow up with a thank-you note.

These steps will help you ace the interview.

5️⃣ Lack of follow-up after applying or interview.

Many job searchers make the error of submitting their applications and then holding out on hearing back.

But doing so could give the impression that you’re unmotivated or unserious.

Instead, after applying, you should make courteous follow-up calls or emails.

♦️Be bold. Be confident. Do have a day filled with sunlight.
